comedyscene.org produces and features content with contributors from some of the most popular indie and alt comedy acts in Chicago and beyond.
Our project started with The Scene Comedy Vlog, a 10 episode docuseries featuring Improv, Stand-Up, and Variety sets in performance spaces of all kinds, including Chicago’s “big three” — Second City, iO Theater, and The Annoyance.
The Vlog premiered in May 2022 to capture the rehabilitating post-pandemic comedy scene in Chicago from backstage and behind the curtains. It concluded in November 2023 with the release of its 10th episode, and in December 2023 The Scene debuted Special Presentations — a continuation that focuses primarily on releasing full performances that have been archived, or other specials.
